If you’re looking for the perfect party drink for the summer, this Rum Punch Party Bucket is it. Not only is it cool to drink, it’s a fun and interactive experience for your guests. I’ll be honest and tell you that we didn’t do any measurements for this rum punch. We left the amounts up to our friends. You can pour in as much or as little as you want. (* Disclaimer – Must be 21+ to consume alcohol). We set up a DIY Rum Punch bar on our kitchen counter and let everyone create their own drinks. It was a hit!
Of course we had red and blue buckets to match my Memorial Day party decor, but you can use any color buckets you like. It’s always fun to match your party theme. One thing that I forgot to do at our party, but want to suggest to you is to have your guests write their names on the bottoms of their buckets with a sharpie before you begin. As you can imagine, it’s easy to mix up a dozen buckets lying around once the party gets started. If you want to take it a step further, pull out your Cricut and pre-label everyone’s bucket for them. Now that’s a nice touch!
So let’s get this party started…
Rum Punch Party Bucket Supplies:
- Buckets
- Jumbo Straws
Rum Punch Party Bucket Ingredients:
- Ice
- Frozen Fruit
- Fruit Juice of your choice
- Malibu Rum
- Assorted Candy
- Smirnoff Malt Beverage
Instructions:
- Wash your buckets . I purchased mine from Five Below. They were $5 for a package of 6 and were actually giant yard pong game cups. If you don’t have a Five Below store near you, then these on Amazon will work perfectly as well.
- Fill 1/3 of the bucket with ice. Adjust according to your needs.
- Top with a handful of frozen fruit. We used frozen strawberries and pineapples. Adjust according to your preferences here.
- Add in 8 oz. of rum. We offered a variety of Strawberry Malibu Rum and Pineapple Malibu Rum for our guests to choose from. We also offered a standard Bacardi Rum (unflavored) for those who wanted to add in an extra shot.
- Add in 8-10 oz. of fruit juice of your choice. Adjust amount according to your preference. We offered a variety of Tampico Tropical Punch and Tampico Citrus Punch for our guests to choose from.
- Add in candy. We had skittles, gummy worms, gummy bears, twizzlers, air heads extreme candy, and peach rings. You can get as creative as you would like here.
- Finish your drink by adding in a Smirnoff Ice malt beverage bottle upside down inside the bucket. Push the bottle down quickly into the drink so that it will have a slow drip into the bucket over time.
- Top your Rum Punch Party Bucket with more candy and a straw. Here are the straws I purchased on Amazon. They were the perfect size to fit inside the buckets.
